Creative Care for Your Inner World.
Art Therapy in Toronto's West End
Welcome. If you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or like you're moving through life on autopilot, you're not alone. You might be used to over-functioning, taking care of others, or getting stuck in loops of overthinking. Maybe you grew up keeping the peace, reading the room, or learning to put your own needs last.If that’s the case, this space is for you. Together, we’ll turn inward, tap into your innate creativity, and begin to reconnect with the parts of you that have gone unheard or overlooked so you can begin to build clarity, self-trust, and a sense of safety that feels unshakable.

Sometimes, when words feel out of reach, the creative process offers another way in. Art-making can help surface what lives beneath language: grief, anger, numbness, confusion, or moments of unexpected clarity.Whether we use paint, collage, found objects, or simple marks on paper, the focus is not on creating art that looks a certain way. This work is not about creating something polished. It is about staying with the process and using creativity as a way to explore, express, and connect more deeply with yourself.Sessions combine image-making with reflective conversation, allowing space for both visual and verbal exploration. You do not need any art experience, only a willingness to be curious about what shows up.If you are working through patterns of over-functioning, self-abandonment, or early emotional roles, art therapy can help you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been silenced, sidelined, or overlooked. This process can support emotional processing, insight into relational dynamics, and a more grounded sense of self. Together, we will move at a pace that honours your story and respects your nervous system. You might leave feeling more anchored, more spacious, or simply more like yourself.Individual sessions are currently offered virtually. No special materials are required, and I will guide you in setting up a creative space at home that feels supportive and accessible.

Creating in the presence of others can offer a kind of connection and relief that is often hard to access in daily life. There is something powerful about creating alongside others. In a group setting, your inner experience does not just stay within you. It is reflected, witnessed, and held by a small circle of people on their own healing paths.Group sessions offer space to express what feels true and to notice what resonates through shared experience. You will be invited into a creative process with gentle guidance, simple materials, and time for reflection, with space to participate in ways that feel right for you. This work can be especially meaningful for those exploring identity, healing from harmful relational patterns, or seeking meaningful connection. Groups can support emotional expression, reduce isolation, and offer new perspective through shared insight and experience. For those unlearning old roles or beginning to trust again, group work can offer a different kind of safety, one rooted in presence, permission, and community.Workshops are available virtually or in person by arrangement. I am available to facilitate in offices, community spaces, or other welcoming environments.Interested in group work? About Me
Art Therapist &
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
I’m Caitlyn Terry, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Art Therapist based in Toronto. I work with individuals who want to reconnect with themselves and their emotional lives in a grounded, creative, and compassionate way.I’ve supported people of all ages, including children and youth, across diverse settings. My current focus is adults and young adults navigating anxiety, burnout, identity shifts, relational harm, emotionally immature caregiving, and betrayal in close relationships.I’m especially attuned to entrepreneurs, creatives, and caregivers who have spent years tending to others or striving to meet high expectations, often while neglecting their own needs. My work blends clinical training with lived experience and centres on unlearning patterns of self-abandonment, people-pleasing, and emotional suppression. My approach is relational and arts-based, grounded in the belief that you are the expert in your own story. I offer a therapeutic space that supports clarity, emotional safety, and the slow rebuilding of self-trust.Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an entrepreneur in the food industry—an experience that deepened my understanding of burnout, emotional labour, and what it means to hold it all together on the outside while struggling within.I hold a DTATI from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute and a BFA with Distinction from OCAD University. I’m registered with the CRPO and am a member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association.

My practice is trauma‑informed and grounded in social justice, with awareness of how systemic oppression such as racism, sexism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, and the pressures of capitalism can shape our lives. These forces can contribute to stress, anxiety, depression, burnout, and stored trauma. All people are welcome, and I strive to meet each person with care for their individual needs. This is a space where all bodies, identities, and stories are safe and respected.
